The practice area, affectionately known as “Palmer’s Playground”, includes a 10-acre driving range that is under stadium lighting so you can practice your golf game during the daylight hours and in to the night time after the sun sets.
With Bermuda grass tees and artificial turf, you can practice your long game anytime; even during inclement weather conditions. Birkdale Golf Club offers 25 tee spaces on the driving range from which to practice your full swing giving you plenty of space from which to develop your game.
The short game area consists of two 5,000 square foot practice greens. The chipping green is an excellent place to develop that challenging bump & run shot that can save you many strokes during your round. The chipping green also has a practice bunker where you can develop your greenside bunker game so you can drive your golfing buddies crazy when you keep saving strokes from the sand.
Before you tee off, make sure to test the putting surface. The putting green at Birkdale Golf Club is nestled between the 1st & 10th tees and is a great place to get a feel for the greens before you head out to play Arnies design. The Putting Green is also an equally great place to spend the day developing your putting skills.
